Frost!!! Gahh!

We have a frost warning tonight! I’m covering our fig tree and a couple of the seedlings. Now we just have to hope for the best.
Big Plantings! Courgettes, Edamame, Beets, Pak Choi, Kale, Sugar Snap Peas!
Been doing a lot of planting the past week. Was a little slow to report. Basically in the subject title is what I have planted in the past week. The garden looks bare with not a lot growing but soon it will be sprouting. I think its safe to say the garlic has taken, the shallots are growing, and the onions are taking off. There are lots of strawberry flowers which ill take a picture of this week so definitely lots of strawberries this year along with the new ones i planted. I’ve been working on the new beds and plan to have them in place this week. Got herbs that need planting too. Happy Spring! check out this video that I made too!
Planting potatoes!

Planted the potatoes today. I have four trenches of them in the bed. Should get a lot more this year as this time I divided the eyes.
Garlic, pollinating, and Shal Lots!

Haven’t seen too many bees outside yet so to be safe I did a little hand pollinating today with a soft brush. Yesterday I planted shallots and garlic in their bed.
Time to plant!!

We are up up and away! Here we have cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, and kale all planted in pots. I have sown carrots and lettuce outside.
Onions and Strawberries

Planted some sets of onions and strawberries today. Some of the onions weren’t looking too good so I’m going to be sure to plant plenty of them this year. I will plant lots if strawberries to expand the amount of beds I have for them.
Happy Spring!

Hey y’all! Spring is here and things are in full swing. I’ve been meaning to post things about the maple syrup production this year which went really well, but I be been so busy the past month that I didn’t get a chance. I will put out a video soon though. Meanwhile, planting has started with planting lettuces yesterday and building new raised beds are underway. The first asparagus shoots are up. This will be the first year we will harvest asparagus!
Fruit tree protection! Tanglefoot!

Worked on the fruit trees today. I wrapped flagging tape around the trunks of the trees and attached a thin coating of tree tangle foot on them as a protection against the bugs who will want to crawl up the tree!
